Honeylocust, red bud, and purple heart, all have their talents and personalities.

Red bud is a lovely tree with, you guessed it, red buds. It has this a cool habit of blooming flowers from its trunk and has wood with yellowish sap wood and darker brown heart wood. The reason you don’t see it’s wood everywhere is because as soon as you cut a piece it starts to loose moisture and cracks So you have to Season it well.

Honey locust if have seen my other listings, you know how much I Praise this magnificent wood. This particular piece came from a tree next to a local skate park of mine and is at the top of all of my lists for Quality, strength and appearance.

Purple Heart is probably the most well known of the three, and for a good reason, it is quite strong and as the name would Suggest- it’s so purple! And Its color is prized worldwide.

So now for the necklace,it has a lobster clasp and The string is a Cobalt electric guitar string ( low E I think) from a guitar I made that got run over by a car (the guitar is fine) but the string was Unsuitable for playing so I thought, hey that would be cool wooden guitar necklace with real guitar string.

I feel that Wearing this necklace you are closer to instruments and Music but also closer to the trees that gave the woods and the earth that we walk on.
